Getting Started with Excel:
Excel organizes data in a grid of rows and columns called a worksheet. Each intersection of a row and column is called a cell, and each cell can contain text, numbers, or formulas.
Basic Formulas:
Excel formulas always begin with an equals sign (=). Here are some basic formulas:
- SUM: =SUM(A1:A5) adds values in cells A1 through A5
- AVERAGE: =AVERAGE(A1:A5) calculates the average of values in cells A1 through A5
- COUNT: =COUNT(A1:A5) counts the number of cells with numbers in the range A1 through A5
- MAX: =MAX(A1:A5) finds the highest value in the range A1 through A5
